Since its inception in 2005, it has been the top restaurant in Charlotte’s fine dining scene. The restaurant, which is housed in the historic Lucas House, offers an excellent dining experience with a seasonal French and Italian-inspired menu, an award-winning wine selection, and outstanding service.
The Lucas House, a 1913 Craftsman-style home in Charlotte’s Elizabeth district, houses Fig Tree Restaurant. John Paul and Alice Craft Lucas were the initial proprietors of the historic site, and their names were given to it. The restaurant takes its name from the four Brown Turkey fig trees that grow on the property.
The pre-WWII property, located on the intersection of East 7th Street and Louise Avenue, is minutes from Center City and is across from Independence Park, one of Charlotte’s first public parks.
The house’s cozy but beautiful atmosphere offers a one-of-a-kind eating experience. The restaurant’s aesthetics will thrill you, from the original woodwork to the flowering fig trees, with five magnificent dining rooms, vast seating on the veranda and terrace, numerous big fireplaces, and a full-service bar. The Fig Tree Restaurant is a wonderful combination of sumptuous cuisine, expertly suited wines, and outstanding service.
