Nominations Open for Annual Police-Community Relations Awards in the City of Charlotte
Charlotte, North Carolina —The city of Charlotte is now accepting nominations for the 44th Annual Police-Community Relations Awards. This highly anticipated annual event recognizes officers from the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department who have fostered positive, problem-solving relationships with individual residents and community groups.
Reinforcing Positive Police-Community Dialogues
The Police-Community Relations Awards have been designed to celebrate the efforts made by law enforcement officers in building trust and ensuring cooperation with the communities they serve. The awards are a hallmark of the annual National Police Week.
Nominations for officers or police work teams can be made through an online form or sent by mail. The nominations will be accepted until April 5, in which they will be reviewed by a select group. This group is comprised of members of the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Community Relations Committee. The awards ceremony will be held on May 16 to honor the selected officers for their dedicated community service.
How to Nominate
Those who wish to nominate an officer or a team should include the following information:
- The name, phone number, and email address of the person making the nomination.
- The names of the officer or officers being nominated.
- The district where the officers work.
- The attributes or characteristics that qualify the officers for an award.
Mailed nominations should be addressed to the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Community Relations Committee, Belmont Regional Center, 700 Parkwood Ave., Charlotte, NC 28205.
