Carolina BBQ Festival coming to the QC next week

The fundraising event will run from Fri, April 5 to Sat, April 6 with proceeds going towards 3 charities.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (QC Life)—Next week, residents of Charlotte can look forward to a weekend filled with mouth-watering BBQ, live music, and merchandise while also supporting a good cause. Lewis Donald, the owner of Sweet Lew’s BBQ and founder of the Carolina BBQ Festival, is bringing the festival back to the QC for the third time as part of the Charlotte SHOUT! celebrations.

A Weekend of Festivities

The event will kick off on Friday, April 5 at 6:30 p.m. with a charity dinner and private concert by ‘Filmore’ at Victoria Yards. All proceeds from this evening will go towards national and local charities, including Operation BBQ Relief, Hungry Heroes, and Folds of Honor.

Operation BBQ Relief and Hungry Heroes will prepare a delicious BBQ buffet dinner with menu items like Pulled Pork Sliders, Pork Ribs, Chicken sliders, Cole Slaw, and Mexican Street Corn. Attendees will also have the option to purchase beer, wine, cocktails, and other beverages.

For those interested in a unique experience, there will be a live crawfish boil featuring Erica Roby, the ‘2022 Food Networks Season 2 – Master of Cue Champion’. Tickets for this special evening start at $99 and can be purchased online.

Saturday, April 6 Festivities

On Saturday, April 6, guests can enjoy tastings and treats from 15 pitmasters, offering a variety of BBQ delights including whole hog, chicken, ribs, seafood, and more. Additionally, there will be local vendor activations for attendees to explore.

Guests will also receive a tote bag filled with product samples and goodies, along with live music performances by local artists Justin Fedor, Carolina Gator Gumbo, Todd Johson and the Revolvers, and Charlotte Bluegrass Allstars.

Ticket Information

General admission tickets for Saturday start at $75, while VIP tickets are available for $125. VIP ticket holders will enjoy early admission at 11 a.m. with a Live DJ, complimentary oysters, access to the VIP area and bars, two drink tickets, and a $20 merch voucher to use towards 2024 festival t-shirts, hats, and more.
