Janey Thompson, a sophomore majoring in biophysics at Wake Forest University, succumbed to complications from a blood clot on Tuesday evening. Janey Thompson graduated from Myers Park High School in 2022 and was known for her brilliance, athleticism, and incredible work ethic. She was a member of the National Society of Physics Students, played on the Wake Forest women’s club basketball team, and belonged to the Delta Delta Delta sorority. Janey was awarded the Randall Ledford Scholarship in Physics and the Porter Byrum Scholarship at Wake Forest University.
