Exciting New Hub for Entrepreneurs Opens in Charlotte

Charlotte is buzzing with excitement after the opening of the Freedom Business Collective, a brand-new space designed specifically for entrepreneurs and small business owners. This fantastic addition to the community was celebrated with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on September 17, marking a significant step towards supporting local businesses and job seekers in the west Charlotte area.

A Community Investment

The Freedom Business Collective is located at 1525 Enderly Road, nestled in the vibrant Corridor of Opportunity. This location is part of a broader initiative started by the city in 2020, aimed at investing in six historically under-served and low-income neighborhoods. The goal is to promote economic development and provide resources to enhance the livelihoods of residents and entrepreneurs alike.

In November of last year, local nonprofit Freedom Communities was awarded a portion of $3.9 million aimed at these development projects as part of a larger $38.5 million city initiative. Erin Gillespie, the executive program manager for the Corridors of Opportunity, emphasized the importance of this new hub, stating, “This hub represents our commitment to empowering entrepreneurs and residents, ensuring that all corners of our city have the tools and resources needed to succeed.”

Designed for Success

The Freedom Business Collective is not just a place to work; it’s a thriving ecosystem of support and opportunity. The space is equipped to meet a variety of needs, featuring private offices, business coaching, networking opportunities, workshops, and training programs tailored specifically to the needs of the community in west Charlotte. With such resources at their disposal, tenants can significantly boost their business skills and knowledge, setting a strong foundation for their ventures.

Hannah Beavers, the executive director at Freedom Communities, shared her vision for the center, saying, “Our mission is to provide affordable workspace, foster deeper connections, and create growth opportunities.” To make this vision a reality, the new tenants of the Collective will enjoy substantial financial relief with discounts on rent that can be as high as 65% for the first year of use. This ensures that financial barriers are lowered, allowing entrepreneurs to focus on what truly matters: growing their businesses.

Partnerships That Make a Difference

The launch of the Freedom Business Collective is a remarkable example of community collaboration. The initiative is supported by a number of partner organizations including Do Greater Charlotte, The Boost Pad, and ASPIRE Community Capital. These organizations will play a vital role in providing ongoing support and programming to help residents access the resources they need to succeed.

Whether you are starting a new business, looking for advice on how to grow, or searching for a community to connect with like-minded individuals, the Freedom Business Collective is ready to offer you a warm welcome and the tools to help you thrive.

A Bright Future Ahead

The community’s enthusiasm is palpable, and with the opening of the Freedom Business Collective, there’s no doubt that local entrepreneurs will find a supportive environment to turn their ideas into reality. This hub is not just about business; it’s about lifting each other up and building a brighter future for everyone in west Charlotte.

As the city continues to work on enhancing opportunities for its residents, the Freedom Business Collective stands as a shining beacon of hope and prosperity—an inspiring testament to what can be achieved when people come together to foster growth and innovation.
