Charlotte, NC – It was a devastating day for the community as two separate car accidents claimed the lives of a 4-year-old girl and a 58-year-old man on Thursday. Around 8:10 a.m., a family found themselves caught in a tragic head-on collision on Boggs Road near Hunsucker Drive in Catawba County. According to State Highway Patrol Trooper Christopher Casey, the young girl who lost her life was riding in an SUV that crossed the center line. The driver of the SUV was identified as 32-year-old Lyndsey Nicole Gaddis, who sustained non-life-threatening injuries. It’s truly heartbreaking to think about the panic and fear in such a situation.
Alongside the young girl, a 2-year-old and a 12-year-old were also in the vehicle, both hospitalized with life-threatening injuries. Police spokesperson Bill McGinty confirmed the events, stating that the crash happened between Niblick Drive and East Hudson Boulevard. Sadly, Auten was pronounced dead at the scene.
