Folia is brought to life by the talented team behind some beloved local spots like The Goodyear House, Haymaker, and Old Town Kitchen and Cocktails. These folks have been working behind the scenes on this secret project for a while, and they are bursting with excitement to unveil their creation to the community.
The original plan was to debut in the summer, but good things come to those who wait, right? Chris Coleman of Built on Hospitality knows all about it. “We were eyeing South End for a while and knew if a space opened up that felt right, we’d jump on it,” he shared, reflecting on their decision to land in this trendy neighborhood. With South End buzzing with energy and numerous bars, this team aims to create something “a little more sophisticated” for those who still love socializing but have maybe moved on from the wild club scene.
A Miami Garden Bar Experience
So, what can you expect once you step inside Folia? Imagine a place designed for intimate get-togethers, romantic date nights, or even private parties with a touch of “lush vibes”. Award-winning mixologist and beverage director Bob Peters describes it well: “We are going for a sort of Miami garden bar,” he explains. “We think this might be the hub of South End for generations to come.”
Folia will be offering a menu filled with seasonal cocktails crafted by Peters himself, alongside a variety of beers, wines, and non-alcoholic options. “We did some tropical, summery drinks here at the tail end of summer, and we’ll change things every season,” he adds. So you can expect fresh and exciting flavors every time you visit!
