The driver, Aneesah Akbar, aged 47, and her passenger, Darlene Akbar, aged 74, were found to have sustained serious injuries. After being rushed to the hospital, they were unfortunately pronounced dead. While details regarding their exact relationship remain unclear, it appears that they were indeed family.
Immediate Aftermath
De’Ontrey Taylor was also taken to the hospital, but thankfully, his injuries were non-life-threatening. Upon his arrival, hospital staff and police officers performed a screening and determined that he was impaired at the time of the crash. Charges Filed
As a result of the tragic incident, Taylor has been charged with serious offenses. He faces two counts of felony death by a vehicle, one count of reckless driving, and one count of driving without a license. This series of charges reflects the gravity of the situation and the consequences of his actions that led to such a devastating loss for the Akbar family.
