Festival in the Park has brought wonderful music, fine art, and good moments to Charlotte residents and tourists from all over the world since 1964. The strains of “large band music” flow across the calm surface of Freedom Park’s lake, which reflects the lights strung from Camelot display tents.
As tiny toddlers with painted faces enthusiastically make their first creative piece, the aromas of a variety of foods flood the air. Others seek out one of the many great painters who can produce an original work of art to complement their house or offer as a thoughtful present.
The casual, relaxing atmosphere attracts first-time visitors. As memories of past festivals are recalled, old-timers marvel at the freshness of each year’s offerings. Unlike other events, our lighting setup allows us to stay up late.
