If you were attending the Lovin’ Life Music Festival and trying to get home early Sunday morning, you may have experienced a delay. Two Blue Line trains in University City were brought to a halt for about an hour due to a car obstructing the tracks, impacting passengers’ commutes.
At around 1 a.m., a car was reported to be on the tracks near Institute Circle, causing a disruption in the southbound train’s route. While crews were able to remove the car from the tracks, passengers on the southbound train had to be assisted by security, CMPD, and CATS officials to safely exit the train.
The northbound train was held at the J.W. Clay Boulevard station during the incident while authorities worked to clear the tracks. CATS arranged for the affected passengers to be transferred to another train via bus, ensuring their safe transportation to their destinations.
CATS provided real-time updates to inform passengers about the situation, allowing for better planning and communication. The incident caused delays in the northbound train schedule, but efforts were made to minimize inconvenience for the passengers affected.
Safety measures were promptly implemented, and the coordination between the involved agencies helped ensure the well-being of the passengers and the efficient resolution of the situation. As a result, the Blue Line train services were able to resume normal operations after the tracks were cleared.
