This eight-day celebration begins on Kislev 25—which usually falls in late December—and it’s all about commemorating the rededication of the Second Temple of Jerusalem. But, it’s so much more than just a historical event; it’s a chance to bond with family, carry on cherished traditions, and enjoy some truly delicious seasonal treats.
What’s Cooking This Hanukkah?
One of the best parts of Hanukkah is the food! Whether you’re a fan of crispy, golden latkes or you have a sweet tooth craving those fluffy raspberry sufganiyot doughnuts, there’s something for everyone. This year is extra special because, for the first time in a while, Hanukkah coincides with Christmas on Wednesday, December 25, and continues through Thursday, January 2. It’s the perfect opportunity to embrace everything the Festival of Lights has to offer!

While it’s a little disappointing that Chef Alyssa’s Kitchen won’t be offering its traditional Hanukkah menu this year, don’t worry! They’re still celebrating with a special cooking class. Here’s where you can find some delicious Hanukkah meals and treats in Charlotte:
