Charlotte Celebrates 1,000 Snowless Days as Warm Weekend Weather Approaches

Hello Charlotte!

Happy Friday to all of you in the Queen City! Can you believe it? Today marks a whopping 1,000 days since we last saw a snowflake fluttering down from the sky. It might feel hard to imagine snow when we’re enjoying such beautiful weather right now. So, let’s soak in every moment of this warm and sunny weekend!

Weather Forecast

As we head into the weekend, you’ll be pleased to know that these lovely sunny skies and comfy temperatures are sticking around. Thanks to a ridge of high pressure currently holding strong over the East Coast, we’re in for a treat today! Expect to experience highs reaching around 78°F with light winds coming from the southwest at around 5 to 10 mph. It’s a perfect day to get outside and enjoy some time in the sun—maybe take a stroll in the park or have a picnic!

As we move into Saturday, we can definitely turn up the heat a little. With winds shifting from the southwest, many areas, especially in the Foothills and Piedmont, will see temperatures climb into the low 80s. Doesn’t that sound glorious? Just remember to grab your sunscreen as you bask in the sun!

Changes Are Coming

But hold on to your hats! Big changes are on the horizon by Sunday. A cold front will be coming our way from the northwest, and with that, we might experience a few showers late Saturday night. While we still have to wait to see how much rain we actually get, it’s clear that the weather will take a big turn.

By Sunday, the high temperatures will have a hard time breaking the 60°F mark in the Metro area, thanks to some cooler air that will move in from the northeast. Packed with clouds, it seems like we’re in for a much more nippy day. But don’t let that get you down! Each season has its charm, and Sunday will be a cozy opportunity to enjoy warm drinks at home or plan a snug movie night.

What’s Ahead

As we gear up for a new week, the good news is that brighter and warmer days are in store once again. By Monday, temperatures will start in the 50s and 60s but will gradually rise back into the 70s, making it feel like we are back in business! And mark your calendars because Halloween Thursday looks to be another beautiful day, with highs possibly approaching a lovely 80°F. It’s time to start thinking about your costumes!
