In a commanding display, the Charlotte Country Day boys’ team secured an 83-50 win against the South Charlotte Thunder. Nick Diaz led the Bucs with a game-high 19 points. Key matches continued throughout the evening with Cannon School overpowering Winston-Salem Christian Regional with a score of 73-47. Cannon’s players showcased their skills with contributions from Madison Drayton and Khloe Thompson, scoring 15 and 11 points, respectively.
Another notable matchup saw 1 of 1 Academy defeat No. 7 Concord Academy 70-58 behind Christian Mundy’s 20 points. This result showcased the depth of talent in the conference as the rivalry continues to heat up.
In girls’ action, Charlotte Country Day triumphed over South Charlotte Thunder 63-22, with Sam Vanderhave leading the way with 20 points. Hickory Grove also got off to a winning start with a 68-37 victory against Lee Park Prep, led by Tristan Nelson’s 17 points.
