Supporting Charlotte Creatives with New Opportunity Fund
CHARLOTTE, N.C. – If you are a member of the Charlotte creative hub, listen up. Matt Olin with Charlotte is Creative and Priya Sircar, the arts & culture officer for the City of Charlotte came by the studio to tell us about the new ‘Opportunity Fund’ initiative, providing grant money to Charlotte-Mecklenburg artists, creative groups, and nonprofits.
What is the Opportunity Fund?
According to Olin, the Opportunity Fund is part of the City’s new Art & Culture Plan, and every project proposal is required to advance one or more of the priorities listed in that plan. Local artists can apply for up to $40,000 to fund near-term and one-time projects and initiatives.
How to Apply
Letters of Intent are due by Thursday, March 28 and should be submitted online through the City of Charlotte’s website. For more information, artists can also check out the City of Charlotte’s Facebook and Instagram pages.
