Charlotte Welcomes Fall with a Vibrant Concert Season

Hello there, Charlotte! As the crisp autumn air settles in, it’s time to embrace the bustling vibe of the fall concert season. The music scene here is bursting with talent from every corner of the genre pool. Whether you’re a fan of country, blues, pop, or classical, there’s something here to light up your weekends. So grab your calendars and let’s dive into an exciting lineup of shows that you won’t want to miss!

This Weekend’s Highlights

Today, October 5, is an exhilarating day for music lovers. If you’re into bluegrass-infused folk, head over to The Amp at Ballantyne to catch Trampled By Turtles. Their heartwarming melodies will surely stir your soul. Meanwhile, pop enthusiasts can groove along with Lake Street Dive at Skyla, which remains one of my favorite local venues for its friendly ambiance and sound.

Get Ready for Confluence!

Mark your calendars for October 9-11: it’s time for Confluence — a not-to-miss multi-day conference and music festival catering to both fans and musicians from across the Southeast. On October 11, catch Chatham County Line at the Neighborhood Theatre, with the talented Sarah Shook and The Disarmers opening the show. Don’t forget to explore the lineup as there are many up-and-coming artists taking the stage at various local venues!

Upcoming Concerts to Look Out For

As we move further into October, some major artists are making pit stops in our city. Steep Canyon Rangers, Grammy Award winners who define traditional bluegrass, are set to perform at The Amp on October 17. Keep your eyes peeled; there’s a possibility that comedian and banjo player Steve Martin might join them, making for an unforgettable night. Opening the show is Ashes and Arrows, a group that promises to add to your evening’s enjoyment!

Then, get ready for R&B powerhouse Usher as he graces the newly renovated Spectrum Center with his Past Present Future tour on October 22-23. It’s bound to be a show that hits all the right notes!

Further along, Little Feat will delight audiences at Knight Theater on October 29, focusing on their iconic album “Waiting For Columbus.” On the following night, Andrea Bocelli will enchant the crowd at Belk Theater for a beautiful celebration of operatic music.

November Brings More Music Magic

As if that’s not enough, November is shaping up to capture the hearts of many! Clairo will hit Ovens Auditorium on November 5 to support her latest album “Charm,” while Lil’ Ed and the Blues Imperials will rock it out at the Middle C Jazz Club on November 7.

Don’t forget the unforgettable blues lineup at Amos’ Southend on November 8, which is sure to bring back memories for longtime Charlotteans. The following night, enjoy a special performance featuring The Cold Stares and more at Neighborhood Theatre.

And if you’re craving a night filled with soulful music, the Tedeschi Trucks Band will wow audiences during their Deuces Wild Tour at Ovens Auditorium on November 12-13. Save your spot quickly, as tickets are sure to fly!

Charlotte Symphony Orchestra Takes the Stage

Lastly, on November 22-23, make your way to Belk Theater where the Charlotte Symphony Orchestra, under the baton of new music director Kwame Ryan, will present Brahms’ “A German Requiem.” With talented vocalists and the Charlotte Master Chorale joining forces, this is a concert that promises to fill your heart with incredible sounds.

Keep the Music Alive

Whether you’re attending one show or multiple, this fall season in Charlotte is ripe with the potential for cherished memories. So why not gather a few friends or make it a family outing? Let’s support our local venues and artists, because nothing beats enjoying live music while embracing the beautiful fall evenings that lie ahead!

In closing, let’s also take a moment to remember those affected by recent events in our state. As we enjoy the vibrant tunes and melodies, let’s keep them in our thoughts.
