Charlotte Gears Up for the 60th Annual Festival in the Park

Charlotte, N.C. is buzzing with excitement as the 60th annual Festival in the Park is set to kick off in Freedom Park this Friday afternoon! This beloved festival, which has been a cornerstone of the community since 1964, is here to celebrate the vibrant blend of music, art, and delicious food that the city has to offer. It’s a fantastic opportunity for families, friends, and neighbors to gather and create lasting memories!

What’s Happening at the Festival?

The energy at the festival is palpable, and there’s something for everyone! Attendees can look forward to an impressive lineup of entertainment spread across several stages. Highlights include performances from talented local musicians on the Main Stage, the cozy and charming Charlotte Folk Society Stage, and the energetic We Rock Youth Stage which promises to showcase the rising stars of tomorrow!

For those with little ones in tow, there’s an exciting Family Fun Zone located near the main art exhibit, where kids can let loose and enjoy a variety of attractions. Expect to see the Way Out Swing, Rapid Slide, a bouncy Fun House, and an exhilarating Inflatable Obstacle Course. Sounds like endless fun!

Mark your calendars! The festival runs from 4 PM to 9 PM on Friday, 10 AM to 9 PM on Saturday, and wraps up on Sunday from 10 AM to 5 PM. The best part? Admission is absolutely free! It’s a great chance to explore local arts and culture without breaking the bank.

Parking Tips for Attendees

While the festival is free, parking can be a little tricky. There’s limited parking available at Atrium Health Myers Park for a fee of $15 on Friday and $20 on Saturday. To make things easier and to avoid the hassle of finding a spot, you may want to consider taking a ride-sharing service like Uber or Lyft. The drop-off points are conveniently located at 2435 Cumberland Avenue or 1600 Princeton Avenue.
