Charlotte Gas Prices Spike Over Past Month
Charlotte, N.C. (WBTV) – Gas prices in the Charlotte area are up more than 25 cents per gallon over the past month, according to a recent survey.
The survey, conducted by GasBuddy, revealed the average price currently stands at $3.22 per gallon. That is up 26.8 cents from a month ago, and 10 cents more than it was a week ago. The Charlotte-area average is slightly higher than the state average, which is $3.20 per gallon. Across the United States, the average price is $3.40.
Rising Prices
“The national average price of gasoline has seen a continued but measured rise compared to last week, but the pace of increases has slowed slightly in the last few days,” said Patrick De Haan of GasBuddy. “Much of the seasonal rise that happens this time of year is a culmination of refinery maintenance, the switch to summer gasoline, and rising demand.”
