CHARLOTTE, N.C. (HERE News) – The average price of gas has gone up by more than 17 cents per gallon over the past week in the Charlotte area, according to a survey. The survey, conducted by GasBuddy, found the average price per gallon currently stands at $3.12, marking its highest point in months.
The survey revealed that the cheapest station in Charlotte was selling gas for $2.85 per gallon, while the highest price was $3.39 per gallon. This increase in gas prices has been a notable trend in recent weeks, affecting consumers in the region.
Across the state of North Carolina, the average price of a gallon of gas is slightly higher than in Charlotte, at $3.15 per gallon. Nationally, the average price is even higher, with a gallon of gas averaging $3.26. This rise in gas prices is in line with a national trend of increasing costs at the pump.
GasBuddy’s Patrick De Haan highlighted that the early increase in gas prices could indicate an early start to the traditional spring price surge. Factors such as refinery maintenance and supply levels leading up to Memorial Day will play a crucial role in determining how much further gas prices may rise in the coming weeks.
Drivers looking to save on gas can find the cheapest prices in their area by using online resources or apps that track gas prices at local stations. By staying informed about pricing trends, consumers can make more economical choices when filling up their tanks.
As gas prices continue to climb in Charlotte and across the country, it is essential for consumers to monitor price fluctuations and plan ahead for fuel expenses. Understanding the factors that influence gas prices can help drivers make informed decisions about when and where to fill up their tanks.
