Charlotte High School Volleyball Stars: Vote for the Best Player of the Season!

Charlotte High School Volleyball Season Highlights

Charlotte, NC – The high school volleyball season in the Charlotte area has wrapped up, showcasing incredible talent and competition among student-athletes. With numerous outstanding players nominated, the community has the opportunity to vote for the best high school volleyball player in the area. Voting will be open until midnight on Sunday.

Who’s in the Running?

This year, the contest features a group of impressive finalists, each recognized for their remarkable contributions on the court. The nominated players include:

  • Karsyn Baylog, Marvin Ridge, Senior: Baylog excelled as an outside hitter, leading her team to an impressive 34-4 record and a spot in the N.C. 4A state championship game. She totaled 245 kills, 297 digs, 34 aces, and 29 blocks, earning her a place among the all-state picks and conference player of the year.
  • Anne Bradley Bing, Gaston Day, Senior: As an outside hitter, Bing made a mark nationally with 718 kills, averaging 8.4 kills per set. With a record of 19-10, she helped lead her team to win the N.C. Independent Schools 2A state title. Bing also received multiple all-conference and all-state honors.
  • Jordin Glass, Davidson Day, Senior: Glass played as a middle hitter and ranked among the top in the state with a hitting percentage of .355. She recorded 356 kills and 76 blocks, contributing to her team’s 24-4 record and state title in the NCISAA.
  • Sofia Janowicz, Ardrey Kell, Senior: A versatile six-rotation player, Janowicz not only played outside hitter but also set for her team. She was vital in leading the Knights to a 17-14 record and achieving individual honors like conference player of the year.
  • Danielle Lewis, Lake Norman Charter, Sophomore: Lewis distinguished herself as a libero with a total of 465 digs and 42 aces over 81 sets. Her efforts helped her team to a 22-3 record, earning her accolades as the South Piedmont conference player of the year.
  • Arianna Lopez, Cannon School, Senior: As the Cougars’ setter, Lopez achieved 120 kills and 522 assists, contributing to a team record of 15-8. Her ability to record 2,000 assists makes her standout in this competitive group.
  • Jumana Martin, Nation Ford (SC), Senior: This libero not only contributed defensively with 500 digs but also showcased her versatility with 141 assists. Martin helped her team to an impressive 40-3 record before reaching the state semifinals.
  • Sanaa Mohammed, Charlotte Country Day, Sophomore: With 278 kills and 32 aces, Mohammed played a crucial role in her team’s successful 20-3 record, receiving recognition as a first-team all-conference and all-state player.
  • Caroline Noonan, Charlotte Christian, Senior: Noonan shone as an outside hitter with a remarkable 257 kills. She also helped her team to an 11-6 record while being awarded the 2024 CISAA conference player of the year.

Why Vote?

The winner of the poll will be highlighted in an article later this month, showcasing their achievements this season. Additionally, the All-Observer volleyball team and the regional player of the year will be announced in December, further celebrating the accomplishments of these talented athletes. The excitement of this voting opportunity not only recognizes individual excellence but also unites the community in support of high school sports.

To vote, participants need to type “yes” in the provided box to access the poll, which enables them to submit their choice for the Charlotte area’s best high school volleyball player. The votes can be cast multiple times until the poll closes on Sunday evening.

This season has proven to be a remarkable showcase for high school volleyball in Charlotte, highlighting the talent and hard work of students dedicated to their sport. The community eagerly awaits the announcement of the poll results and the upcoming All-Observer volleyball team.
