CHARLOTTE, N.C. — In a heartwarming display of community spirit, over a dozen talented artists from Charlotte are banding together for a noble cause. These creative souls have generously put their skills to good use, crafting unique pieces of art that will be auctioned off, with all proceeds directed towards relief efforts in western North Carolina following the devastating Hurricane Helene.
This fantastic initiative is made possible through a partnership involving the TAOH Outdoor Gallery, the Piece for Peace Movement, and local favorites Legion Brewing & Trolley Barn Fermentory & Food Hall. The star attraction of the auction? Twelve hand-painted barrels that were once used in Legion’s brewing process. Each barrel showcases the signature style of an individual artist, transforming ordinary brewing containers into stunning works of art.
The event organizers expressed that this effort is more than just an auction; it’s about channeling love and support through creativity. “Using art to express what words cannot for the devastation that Hurricane Helene left in its wake, these artists used paint brushes and spray paint to show love for their friends and family that have been directly impacted by the hurricane,” they shared in a news release.
Bids for the art can be placed online via the TAOH Outdoor Gallery’s platform, making it easy for anyone to take part in this charitable project. For those who might not be able to bid but still wish to contribute, donations can also be made online! It’s a fantastic way to support a meaningful cause while perhaps taking home a unique piece of art.
Mark your calendars! The auction culminates in a free event taking place this Saturday from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Legion Brewing’s vibrant Trolley Barn located on South Boulevard. The evening will be filled with creativity, art, and community spirit. Attendees will have a chance to meet the talented artists in person, and for the lucky bidders, the winners will be announced right there at the event!
The artists participating in this initiative are an eclectic mix, including the likes of Arko and Luvly Moon, ESTKO, and Jbird the Vandal, among others. Each artist brings their unique perspective and flair to the table, making every barrel a one-of-a-kind masterpiece. It’s a wonderful opportunity to not only support a good cause but also to appreciate the local talent that makes Charlotte’s art scene so vibrant and enjoyable!
This event isn’t just about art; it’s about coming together as a community to uplift those who have been affected by a natural disaster. The resilience of the human spirit is often reflected in art, and this auction embodies that sentiment beautifully. So whether you’re a local art lover, a frequent visitor to the Charlotte area, or someone who simply values community support, this is your chance to make a difference.
So, come on down to Legion Brewing’s Trolley Barn this Saturday. Enjoy an evening filled with art, community, and most importantly, the chance to contribute to a great cause. Who knows? You might just walk away with a unique piece of art that carries with it a story of resilience and hope. See you there!
