The National Weather Service says we can expect snow to start falling bright and early, around 5-6 a.m. in the mountains before moving into the Charlotte metro area around 7 a.m.. With hazardous driving conditions caused by snow, ice, and potential freezing rain, many school districts have decided to play it safe. Here’s how different districts in the area are handling the storm:

  • Alexander County Schools are also moving to a remote learning day.
  • Cabarrus County Schools will shift to remote learning for the day.
  • Caldwell County Schools will start with a two-hour delay.
  • Catawba County Schools will also have a two-hour delay.
  • Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools (CMS) will kick off the day with a two-hour delay.
