Charlotte-based app helping neighbors save time, money booking home care services

Connecting Neighbors with Local Businesses

Spring has arrived, and along with it comes the annual task of spring cleaning for many homeowners in Charlotte, North Carolina. To help residents save time and money on home care services, two Charlotte dads have come up with a solution – an innovative app called StreetFair.

Co-founder Teddy Fitzgibbons shared the inspiration behind the app, stating, “My co-founder and I were complaining about how hard it was to find a local business for services around the house. Constantly trying to get local recommendations, understand which reviews are real, which weren’t.” It was this frustration that led to the creation of StreetFair.

StreetFair works by allowing users to join their neighborhood on the app, where they can see which businesses their neighbors have used and which services are scheduled to be in their area. This enables homeowners to join in on services that are already happening, saving businesses time and resources.

Cost-Effective Coordination

One of the key advantages of StreetFair is that it enables local businesses to service multiple homes within the same neighborhood. This streamlined approach not only reduces traffic and carbon footprint but also allows for group rates on home maintenance jobs such as landscaping, roofing, painting, and more.

Fitzgibbons emphasized the cost-effectiveness of this coordination, noting that businesses are willing to offer discounts when they can service multiple customers in the same neighborhood on the same day. This benefits both the businesses and the homeowners looking to save on home care services.

Growing Usage and Vetting Process

Currently, StreetFair has gained popularity among approximately 14,000 homeowners across 200 neighborhoods in Charlotte. The app undergoes its own vetting process when onboarding new businesses, ensuring that all past work and addresses are verified before being listed on the platform.

To find out if your neighborhood is on StreetFair or to apply to join, visit their website for more information.

Conclusion

In conclusion, StreetFair is revolutionizing the way neighbors connect with local businesses for home care services in Charlotte. By fostering a sense of community and facilitating cost-effective solutions, this app is not only saving homeowners time and money but also supporting local businesses in the area.
