What Was Found During the Inspection

According to county documents, inspectors found a large amount of flies buzzing around the kitchen. This is certainly not the company anyone wants while enjoying a meal! Additionally, the findings came to include a variety of infractions that can make anyone pause before digging into their favorite dishes. Among the most concerning were:

• A half-eaten popsicle stored in the freezer.
• Raw beef placed above a carefully cooked short rib.
• Avocados stored with stickers still on them.
• Debris scattered on surfaces in the kitchen, inside coolers, and on cooking equipment.

This isn’t the first time Muraya has been in hot water for health standards. This marks the third time the restaurant has received a “B” grade. The previous one last surfaced in August 2022, making some locals wonder whether they should reconsider their dining choices.

Other Restaurant Scores in the Area

9 Spices Indian Cuisine, located at 8145 Ardrey Kell Rd., received a score of 87.5% just a day prior, on October 15. Similar to Muraya, this spot was also cited for multiple violations, including the presence of flies and food being stored on the floor—a big no-no in restaurant best practices! However, some violations were corrected on the spot, showing a commitment to health standards, despite past troubles.

9 Spices had previously scored 89% in June of 2024, but now it appears they’re on a rocky road moving forward. Interestingly, this restaurant sometimes goes by the name Charminar Desi Adda on social media, which has certainly stirred conversations among followers and diners alike.
