In the vibrant heart of Charlotte, excitement is building as the annual Trans Health is for Everyone (T.H.E.) fundraiser approaches! This lively event will take place on Saturday, October 19, and promises to be a night full of joy, community spirit, and an unforgettable celebration of diversity.
This year’s theme is “T.H.E. Night Hits The Runway,” and you can bet it will be an evening to remember! The event brings together the city’s healthcare professionals and fabulous drag performers, highlighting the importance of compassion and collaboration in gender-affirming care. The goal is clear: to ensure that transgender health services are accessible to all.
The Charlotte Transgender Healthcare Group (CTHG), formed back in January 2012 by Dr. Lisa Griffin, has been at the forefront of advocating for gender-diverse individuals. Initially starting with a small team of just seven mental health providers, five hormone professionals, and one surgeon, CTHG has grown tremendously, aiming to share best practices and tackle complex healthcare issues for the transgender community.
At this year’s T.H.E. Night, attendees will be treated to an exciting evening filled with dancing, drag performances, and delicious hors d’oeuvres. The local healthcare providers will not only be present to support the cause but also take part in the festivities as they pair up with talented drag performers. Each healthcare professional will channel their inner drag persona, creating a powerful message about the importance of empathy in healthcare.
The lineup for this year’s event includes a number of dynamic pairs, such as Dorae Saunders and Carson Rounds from Avance Care Midtown, Lilli Serena Frost and Rhett Brown also from Avance Care Midtown, and many more entertaining combinations! Each performance is set to reflect the unique stories and experiences of the providers through the art of drag.
To keep things lively, the evening will be hosted by the talented local comedian Shaine Laine, alongside DJ Vanna Vanity from the Vanity House, who is sure to keep the energy high. Audience members can expect plenty of laughs, engagement, and a whole lot of heart throughout the night. It’s a perfect opportunity to socialize with friends and make new ones while supporting a vital cause.
The T.H.E. Night will unfold at Diamonds Direct Luxury Lounge, located within the renowned Truist Field. Doors will open at 6 PM and the fun will run until 10 PM. Tickets are available now, and it’s recommended to grab them early to secure your spot at this incredible event!
Beyond a night of fun and community bonding, the T.H.E. Night aims to raise awareness and funds that are crucial for the ongoing provision of transgender healthcare. By celebrating our diverse community, attendees will help bolster the support and resources available for those seeking care.
Come out to join the festivities and experience the powerful intersection of healthcare and expression. Remember, it takes all of us to ensure that everyone has access to equitable healthcare. Let’s come together to support each other, have a blast, and make a difference! Don’t miss out on this fabulous night in Charlotte—after all, it’s not just an event; it’s a movement!
