The second day of June in Charlotte has brought about a mix of clouds and isolated showers, keeping temperatures on the cooler side. However, there has been a noticeable rise in humidity, hinting at the summer season that is soon to follow.
Temperatures are expected to soar into the mid-to-upper 80s across the Piedmont and Foothills on Monday afternoon, with only a few isolated pop-up storms to provide some relief from the heat. The Queen City has yet to reach 90° in 2024, but that streak is likely to come to an end soon.
The middle three days of the upcoming workweek will all have a chance to hit the 90-degree mark in Charlotte. While storm chances will remain in the stray-to-isolated range through Wednesday morning, they are expected to become more scattered later in the day as a rainmaking system approaches from the west.
Although severe weather is not currently predicted, it is advised to stay weather-wise late Wednesday into early Thursday. The weekend is shaping up to be gorgeous, with highs near 80°, drier air, and plenty of sunshine in the forecast.
