Exciting news is brewing in Charlotte as Snap One Holdings Corp., a prominent tech company, is preparing to move its local headquarters to a dazzling new office space in the Ballantyne area. The company, which originated from one of Charlotte’s first tech startups, Snap AV, recently secured a 10-year lease for a whopping 30,000 square feet at the sleek Panorama Tower. With the move scheduled for next summer, there’s a lot to look forward to!
For those not in the know, Snap One (NASDAQ: SNPO) has seen quite an evolution recently. In April, it was acquired by Resideo Technologies Inc. (NYSE: REZI), a smart-home automation powerhouse based out in Scottsdale, Arizona. What’s more, Snap One was integrated into Resideo’s subsidiary, ADI. Notably, Resideo is a spin-off of none other than Honeywell International Inc., which is located right here in Charlotte. Quite the impressive lineage!
Allie Copeland, who is the senior vice president and chief transformation officer at ADI, shared that Snap One will occupy both the 15th floor and a portion of the 12th floor in the Panorama Tower. The choice of location was strategic; Charlotte is a key market for talent acquisition and **retention**, and the new office’s easy accessibility to major highways, the Charlotte Douglas International Airport, and an array of dining and entertainment options makes it even more attractive.
Now, let’s talk a little more about Panorama Tower! This 17-story mixed-use development, located at 14819 Ballantyne Village Way, boasts some impressive amenities including an 186-room AC Marriott hotel, a fantastic rooftop restaurant called Hestia Asian Fusion, and a generous 120,000 square feet of Class A office space. Developed by local real estate firm Panorama Holdings, this hub was completed in 2021 and is currently about 70% occupied. Other notable tenants include ServisFirst Bank and PartnerRe, an international reinsurer.
One of the standout features of Panorama Tower is its focus on sustainability, which aligns perfectly with Snap One’s mission to reduce its own carbon footprint. Allie emphasized that this new office will not just be about aesthetics; it will be designed to foster enhanced collaboration among team members. “We want our office to capture better communication and teamwork,” she explained, adding that the goal is to enhance the products they bring to the market.
This new local headquarters is set to accommodate around 300 employees, a great move for a company that already boasts a workforce of 1,610 worldwide and about 1,350 in the U.S. Presently, their local HQ is at 1800 Continental Blvd. in southwest Charlotte, with another headquarters located in Salt Lake City, Utah. Interestingly, Snap One went public in 2021, finishing an initial public offering valued at around $250 million.
As the company gears up for this big move, it’s clear that Snap One is not just expanding its physical space but also investing in its future. With ongoing renovations and new projects on the horizon, the tech community in Charlotte has even more to be excited about. The shared vision of innovation, sustainability, and community engagement through these new developments is sure to benefit both the company and the city. Stay tuned for more updates as Snap One prepares to create an impactful presence in the Ballantyne area!
