Charlotte Woman Charged with Murder Released from Jail Less Than 2 Weeks Ago

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – A woman accused of stabbing another woman to death in uptown Charlotte on Monday morning has had several run-ins with the law and was recently released from jail, records show.

Suspect and Charges

Jessica Robinson is charged with first-degree murder and is being held in the Mecklenburg County jail without bond. She is accused of stabbing Susan Dillehay to death near the intersection of North Tryon and Eighth streets. Police have not disclosed whether the two women knew each other or what the motive was in the case.

Past Legal Troubles

A search of records found that Robinson has been arrested several times over the past two years on charges ranging from assault to parole violation. Court records revealed a list of cases against Robinson dating back to 2014, including assault, drug possession, and resisting an officer. She has multiple convictions, and some of her past charges have been dismissed.

Prior to her murder charge, Robinson posted bond less than two weeks ago after facing assault charges. Following her arrest for murder, she was charged with four additional counts for possessing a knife, a crack pipe, resisting an officer, and malicious conduct by a prisoner.

Legal Proceedings

Robinson is set to face a judge on Tuesday morning to address the charges against her.
