Charlotte’s High-End Properties: A Glance at McCaffrey and Harvick’s Estates
Charlotte, North Carolina, has seen some exciting real estate activity as two luxurious homes owned by well-known sports figures have come off the market in recent months. Both properties were listed at an impressive $12.5 million earlier this year, but for different reasons, they are no longer available for sale—for now.
Christian McCaffrey’s Mooresville Mansion
First on the list is the stunning Chateau-style estate belonging to former Carolina Panthers star running back Christian McCaffrey, who now plays for the San Francisco 49ers. Located on Tennessee Circle in Mooresville, McCaffrey put his sprawling home on the market back in January.
After a few months on the market, McCaffrey took the property off the listing in late September. According to Victoria Speer, his listing agent with Coldwell Banker Realty, the decision to pause the sale was all about prioritizing football season. “The season is the priority basically. That’s it. That’s the bottom line. It’s just a short-term little regrouping kind of thing,” Speer mentioned.
While the home was listed, it did attract attention and received two offers. McCaffrey purchased this lavish property for $7.5 million in October 2020 through a limited liability company dubbed BeWater. With a massive 11,000-square-foot layout situated on 8.6 acres, the estate boasts some incredible features. It has six bedrooms, seven full bathrooms, and two half-bathrooms, not to mention luxury amenities like two gyms, a wine cellar, a home theater, a sauna, a saltwater pool complete with a spa, and even a personal dock with both a boat and a Jet Ski!
This isn’t the only piece of real estate McCaffrey owned in the Charlotte area. He also had a stylish penthouse at Skye Condominiums in uptown, which fetched $3 million when it sold last fall.
NASCAR Star Kevin Harvick’s SouthPark Home
The second property that has come off the market belongs to NASCAR driver-turned-analyst Kevin Harvick. His beautiful home on Bent Branch Road in SouthPark was listed in May 2024 and also pulled off the market in early October. According to Heather Gibbs, the listing agent at Corcoran HM Properties, Harvick and his wife decided to take their mansion off the market while they focus on renovating their property.
Harvick’s SouthPark estate, also priced at $12.5 million, is a remarkable offering. This residence spans 4.5 acres and features a main home measured at 9,157 square feet. Inside, there are six bedrooms, seven full bathrooms, and three half-bathrooms. This property doesn’t skimp on luxury either; it includes a home theater, a putting green, a pool, and multiple terraces. To top it all off, there’s a gym, an arcade, and even a golf simulator tucked away in the guest house.
Interestingly, Harvick and his family had been residents of this SouthPark property since 2014, when they purchased it for approximately $3.3 million. Recently, they found a new home in Cornelius, notable for its appearance in the NASCAR spoof movie “Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby.” This new treasure was acquired for $6.75 million just last fall.
What’s Next for These Stars?
As both McCaffrey and Harvick shift their focus back to their respective careers—football and NASCAR—the real estate market in Charlotte might see these incredible properties listed once again down the line. Who can imagine the kind of buyers that would be interested when they decide to take the plunge once more?
For now, these estates remain reminders of the luxurious lifestyles led by professional athletes, and it will be exciting to see how the stories of these homes unfold in the near future!
