Hey Charlotte! Have you noticed that cocktail bars are starting to take a backseat? That’s right! The tattoo pop-up scene is blooming in our city, and honestly, it’s turning heads faster than a well-inked tattoo on a warm summer day! If getting inked is on your to-do list, you’re in for a treat! Grab your friends, or better yet, drag that buddy who’s been talking about getting a tattoo; it’s time to explore the buzzing world of tattoo pop-ups right here in Charlotte.
First up is the fabulous High Vibes Tattoo Studio. Owned and operated by Charlotte native Kayla B. Morales, this fine-line tattoo studio has gained a stellar reputation for hosting the most coveted tiny tattoo pop-ups all over town. Picture it: sipping your favorite brew at a local coffee shop while getting a delicate piece of art on your skin. Sounds dreamy, right?
Kayla started her pop-up journey about two years ago, thanks to some gentle nudging from her social media manager, Cameron Murray. They’ve teamed up to create some unforgettable experiences at places like Thrift Pony, Rowan Ear Piercing, and Night Swim Coffee. As if that isn’t exciting enough, Kayla has big plans for 2025, which include bringing her pop-ups to nearby cities like Asheville, Wilmington, and Raleigh!
For those eager to get inked by High Vibes, mark your calendar because there are several pop-ups lined up this December! Don’t miss your chance to snag a spot. If you’re more of the spontaneous type, you can visit their studio at 7316 Wallace Road, off East Independence.
In February, Venus Tattoo has three exciting pop-ups planned, so be ready to jump in line! You can also catch them at their home base at 10643 Kettering Dr.
Last, but certainly not least, we have The Lash Krave. Located in the charming town of Mount Holly, this beauty salon specializes in both fine line and cosmetic tattoos. Founded by the lovely Haley Gloss, this spot is also a go-to for pop-up events at various small businesses and vendor markets in both Charlotte and the adjacent Gaston County area.
These tattoos are available on a first-come, first-served basis, and a sign-up sheet is usually on hand, so don’t be shy! Now, if you’re looking to visit when you’re in the Mount Holly area, check out their studio location at 129 S. Main St, right across from Traust Brewing.
With more and more folks opting to embrace the art of tattoos, it’s clear that the culture has evolved from its underground roots. It’s thrilling to think about all the unique designs, experiences, and camaraderie that come with these pop-ups! Whether you’re a tattoo veteran or a newbie ready to take the plunge, there’s no better time than now to get involved in this colorful, creative community right in your backyard. So what are you waiting for? Get out there and explore the vibrant tattoo pop-up scene in Charlotte!
