Chick-fil-A Launches Fundraising Event with Second Harvest Food Bank to Combat Hunger in Charlotte

Chick-fil-A Joins Forces with Second Harvest Food Bank to Fight Hunger in Charlotte

Hey there, Charlotte! Are you ready to do some good while enjoying your favorite Chick-fil-A nuggets? Well, mark your calendars and get your appetites ready because starting from November 11 through November 23, Chick-fil-A restaurants across the city will be teaming up with the Second Harvest Food Bank of Metrolina for an exciting two-week fundraising event!

How It Works

Here’s the deal: for every Chick-fil-A Nuggets tray that you purchase during this timeframe, a whopping 100% of the proceeds will go directly to supporting the essential work of the food bank. That means each tray you buy won’t just satisfy your hunger, but will also contribute to the fight against hunger in our community!

Hunger is an issue that’s close to our hearts, and it means so much to us to support Second Harvest in their work to feed people in our community,” said Dean Sandbo, local owner-Operator of Chick-fil-A Indian Trail and Chick-fil-A Wesley Chapel Weddington. “We hope our guests will come out to participate in this fundraiser and join us in supporting Second Harvest Food Bank of Metrolina.”

A Brief Look at Second Harvest Food Bank

Now, you might be wondering about the amazing work done by the Second Harvest Food Bank. Established in 1981, this organization has made it their mission to tackle hunger across 24 counties in both North and South Carolina. How do they do it? Through education, advocacy, and partnerships that help solicit and distribute food to those in need. Can you believe they distribute a staggering 88 million pounds of food and household items every year?

This partnership has been going strong for over 15 years, and last year alone, Chick-fil-A restaurants in Charlotte donated more than $300,000 to the food bank. Incredible, right?

Recent Efforts by Second Harvest

In light of recent events, the Food Bank has been hard at work in response to Hurricane Helene. Just last week, they managed to distribute approximately 42 tractor trailer loads of food and supplies, which adds up to around 1.5 million pounds of goodness! This effort is helping not only those impacted by the hurricane but also other communities in areas like Rutherford County, Lake Lure, and Chimney Rock.

We’re excited to partner with Chick-fil-A for this fundraising event,” said Kay Carter, CEO of Second Harvest Food Bank of Metrolina. “The community’s support of our work against hunger is so inspiring, and we are deeply grateful for their commitment.”

Join the Cause!

So why not make a plan with family and friends? Gather your crew, head over to your local Chick-fil-A, and join the effort to make a difference in our community. Not only will you enjoy some delicious food, but you’ll also be helping to support those who are facing food insecurity in our area.

The participating Chick-fil-A locations will be open from 10:30 a.m. until 10:00 p.m. during this fantastic fundraising event. Please note that hours may vary, so it’s a smart move to double-check with your local restaurant for specific details.

Let’s come together, Charlotte, and show our support for Second Harvest Food Bank while indulging in some mouthwatering nuggets. Happy chomping, and thanks for making a positive change in the community!
