Exciting news for food lovers in Charlotte! The beloved fast-food chain Cook Out is on the rise, expanding its presence in the Queen City with new locations coming soon. With their mouth-watering burgers, tasty hot dogs, and an impressive menu of milkshakes, it’s no wonder that Cook Out has quickly become a fan favorite in the region.
Recently, Cook Out took a significant step toward further growth by acquiring a 1.25-acre property at 10820 Woodland Beaver Road near Albemarle Road. According to the deed of sale filed in Mecklenburg County, Cook-Out Woodland Beaver Inc. purchased the site for a cool $1.75 million on October 24. This new site is part of a broader strategy to increase the number of locations where they can serve their delicious offerings.
The city of Charlotte has already outlined plans for a construction project titled “Cook Out Albemarle Road.” The approved plans indicate that a new building, along with the necessary infrastructure, will be developed on this pad-ready site. While there is an active permit filing underway, further details about the restaurant’s layout or opening date have yet to be shared. Fans will have to stay tuned for more updates!
As of now, Cook Out operates an impressive 29 locations within the Charlotte market, with more on the way. One of the new restaurants is set to open at 1025 Frank Bailey Road, which was bought in 2023 for $1.25 million. This location will feature 1,000 square feet of heated space as indicated by a Mecklenburg County permit, with a total project cost estimates at $1.87 million.
In addition, another restaurant is in the works at 5161 Z-Max Blvd in nearby Harrisburg. This property was purchased in 2021 for $1 million and spans 2.38 acres.
Cook Out enthusiasts, rejoice! The company has indicated that two more restaurants are marked as “coming soon.” One will be located at 1935 US Highway 70 SE in Hickory, while the other will find its home at 711 York Road in Kings Mountain. If these plans come to fruition, Cook Out will solidify its place as a staple in the fast-food landscape of Charlotte and beyond.
That’s not all—the brand is also working on a sister concept called Taco Roos in Charlotte. While details about Taco Roos remain sparse, it has been described as an 1,820-square-foot drive-thru taco restaurant. Cook Out-N Tryon St. Inc. purchased a nearly 2.3-acre site on 9615 N. Tryon St. back in 2006 for $1.25 million, and plans are underway to make this new venture a reality. A recent city filing associated with Taco Roos was submitted on October 23 to address changes in the water meter size.
With all these developments, it’s clear that Cook Out is not only committed to serving delicious fast food but is also dedicated to the growth and expansion of its brand throughout Charlotte. We can’t wait to see how this beloved chain continues to evolve and bring even more tasty options to the table. So, get ready, Charlotte—the Cook Out family is growing, and there are plenty of tasty experiences on the way!
