News Summary

Eden Lee, an Emergency Room Nurse in Charlotte, is also making waves in Hollywood with her role in Netflix’s ‘Zero Day’ alongside Robert De Niro. Balancing her nursing career and acting ambitions, Eden has gained significant recognition in a short period. With her start in 2017, Eden has taken on numerous roles, embodying Special Agent Angela Kim in the exciting new thriller. Her ability to manage both demanding careers has inspired many, making her a true gem from Charlotte.

Charlotte’s Own Eden Lee Shines as Nurse and Act Actress in Netflix’s “Zero Day”

In the heart of Charlotte, an inspiring story unfolds. Meet Emergency Room Nurse and rising star, Eden Lee, who’s not only caring for patients at Atrium Health Union in Monroe but is also dazzling audiences in her new role on Netflix’s latest thriller “Zero Day.” Can you believe it? By day, she’s saving lives, and by night, she’s lighting up the screen alongside film legend Robert De Niro!

Double Duty in Action

The gripping series “Zero Day” focuses on a former president, portrayed by De Niro, as he delves into the chaos and uncertainty following a national cyber attack. Eden takes on the pivotal role of Special Agent Angela Kim, who plays a crucial part in keeping the calm while the world around her spirals into panic.

A Journey to Stardom

Eden’s journey into acting began just a few years ago in 2017, and she’s already racked up over two dozen credits on her IMDb page. She’s no stranger to the screen, having made appearances in hits like Disney+’s “She-Hulk: Attorney at Law” and Peacock’s “Twisted Metal.”
Originally hailing from Queens, New York, Eden dabbled in high school theater while living briefly in Pennsylvania. A family move to Indian Trail, NC brought some challenges; as the housing market crashed, Eden hesitated to chase her theatrical dreams due to expectations at home. However, she couldn’t suppress her passion.

Nursing Roots and Acting Dreams

In 2013, Eden earned her Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing from UNC Charlotte and began working as a nurse right after graduation. Though nursing brought her fulfillment, an itch to act led her to join classes at Film Actors’ Studio Charlotte. By working as a PRN nurse, she could manage her schedules and fulfill her nursing duties between filming days, cleverly balancing both worlds.

Lights, Camera, Action!

During the production of “Zero Day,” which started filming in January 2024, Eden made it convenient by renting a place in West Harlem, a hop away from the studio, allowing her to keep her nursing hours when she returned to Charlotte on her days off. Her co-workers in the emergency room have been incredibly supportive of her acting pursuits, and Eden credits her nursing experience with helping her to handle the stresses of being on set.

Meeting Legends and Learning the Ropes

The first significant break for this multi-talented woman came with a one-liner in a film shot in Charlotte, “Are You There God? It’s Me, Margaret.” Fast forward to January 2023, when she auditioned for “Zero Day.” She landed a role as a recurring guest star by spring 2023, overcoming her own doubts.

Despite experiencing delays due to strikes in the industry, directed by her determination, filming resumed later, and Eden found herself not just working but thriving amidst stardom. And get this: meeting De Niro was initially a jaw-dropping experience, yet as it turned out, he was kind and down-to-earth. Imagine making the great artist laugh after a line flub!

Juggling Two Worlds

Eden remains humble, knowing that while acting has its share of emergencies—think wardrobe malfunctions—they’re nothing like the life-or-death situations she faces as a nurse. Combining both skills, she finds her nursing background valuable in managing any emergencies on set, but she also respects the medics’ roles when things get sticky.

The Future Looks Bright

Looking ahead, Eden is excited about upcoming projects, including a role in the independent film “Bedford Park.” It’s safe to say that this hardworking actress and nurse is just getting started, deftly juggling both professions and inspiring many along the way!

So next time you watch “Zero Day,” take a moment to appreciate the magnificent talents of Eden Lee, a true gem from Charlotte, who’s balancing the demanding worlds of healthcare and entertainment beautifully.
