Discover the Enchantment of Concord’s Independent Bookstores

Discovering the Heart of Concord: A Guide to Independent Bookstores

There’s something magical about walking into a new bookstore, and that feeling was palpable when Goldberry Books opened its doors in downtown Concord. Situated at the lively corner of Cabarrus Avenue and Union Street, this charming little haven is a breath of fresh air in our community. The allure of browsing through countless stories while savoring a sweet iced caramel cappuccino from the neighboring Press & Porter makes every visit a delightful adventure.

As I stepped inside Goldberry Books, I was greeted by a friendly young woman at the counter, whose enthusiasm was contagious. My heart raced as I made my way to the fiction section. With books sprawling across walls and shelves, it felt like stepping into a different world. I was on the hunt for a romance novel, yet, I couldn’t pinpoint exactly what I wanted. Undeterred, I approached the counter, asking for a recommendation. With a spark in her eyes, she led me to the end of the section and handed me a copy of “Thanks for the Trouble” by Tommy Wallach. In that moment, I knew I had found not just a book, but a new sanctuary.
