Hey there, Charlotte! If you’re looking for a fun way to get involved in the upcoming elections and make your voice heard, you’re in luck. The Hispanic Federation is throwing a fantastic event called the “Get Out The Vote Celebration” on October 26 in our beautiful Queen City. This event is all about gathering the community to raise awareness and participation among Charlotte’s Latin community for the upcoming election. So, if you want to do your part and have a blast while doing it, mark your calendars!

What’s Happening at the Event?

The celebration kicks off at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, October 26, at the Tabbris Innovation Center, which is located at the corner of South Blvd and Bland St. It’s the perfect place to gather and get pumped up for some early voting. Everyone is welcome to join in the excitement!

Once everyone is gathered, there will be a lively march to the Bank of America voting site. You’ll be taking those important steps not just for yourself, but for everyone in the community, as the march aims to encourage everyone to cast their votes.

Entertainment and Festivities

And that’s not all! You’ll be treated to a fabulous drag performance by the stunning Lolita Chanel at 11:45 a.m.. Seriously, who doesn’t love a little flair and excitement? The march to the voting site is set for noon, right in time for the chance to cast your vote by 12:20 p.m.. What could be more rewarding than voting while enjoying a fun atmosphere?

After everyone has voted, the group will head back to Tabbris by 1:20 p.m. for a lively social event and a festive party that will last until 3 p.m.. The party will feature performances from not just Lolita Chanel, but also Oso Chanel and RC Cola. It’s bound to be a fantastic experience where everyone can relax, celebrate, and engage with one another.

Community Collaboration

This event is a collaboration with some amazing local organizations, including Charlotte Pride, the Freedom Center for Social Justice, the Carolina Migrant Network, the Charlotte Gaymers Network, and the Pauli Murray LGBTQ+ Bar Association. It’s so wonderful to see such diverse groups coming together, aiming to strengthen our community and drive home the importance of voting.

A Little Background on the Hispanic Federation

For those who may not be familiar, the Hispanic Federation is a fantastic non-profit that operates right across the United States. Founded in 1990 in New York City, they’ve been doing incredible work to educate the Latino population, tackle public issues, and build support within communities for years. They’ve played a crucial role in raising awareness about important topics, such as the fight against HIV and AIDS, and they’ve successfully secured funding for Latino HIV service providers as part of their commendable efforts.

Not to mention their commitment to participating in elections since 1996 has made a significant impact, empowering communities of color to assert their rights and voice their opinions.

Join the Fun!

So, mark your calendars, grab your friends and family, and join the Get Out The Vote Celebration on October 26! It’s a fantastic opportunity to ensure your voice is heard while enjoying the company of fellow community members. Let’s make this election a momentous occasion!
