The victim has been identified as Glandina Dixon, aged 47. Upon arrival at the scene, police found her unconscious and suffering from apparent trauma. Medical personnel pronounced her dead on the spot.
In connection with the homicide, Sam Roary, a 53-year-old man, has been arrested and charged with murder. Following the incident, police deployed their SWAT team to apprehend Roary on August 18.
After his arrest, Roary was taken to the Law Enforcement Center in Uptown Charlotte for questioning. He is now in custody at the Mecklenburg County Sheriff’s Office and faces serious charges.
