The City of Charlotte is gearing up to host the seventh annual arts festival, BOOM 2024. Taking place at Camp North End, located at 300 Camp Road, Charlotte, NC 28206, the three-day event promises an exciting installation centered around the Charlotte Arts & Culture Plan.
What to Expect
BOOM 2024 offers a multifaceted and immersive art experience, featuring an eclectic mix of dance, music, theatre, poetry, visual art, film, and more. Attendees can enjoy ticketed, indoor, and intimate performances, as well as free, outdoor family-friendly shows.
BOOM Fringe and BOOM Intersection
The festival consists of two main components – BOOM Fringe and BOOM Intersection. BOOM Fringe showcases original and experimental art in intimate settings, with ticketed performances in small venues. On the other hand, BOOM Intersection features a variety of art forms on a central stage, interactive installations, and free activities for the public to enjoy.
Artist Lineup and Activities
BOOM 2024 will feature a diverse lineup of artists, allowing for seamless exploration between Fringe and Intersection performances. The festival aims to encourage attendees to engage with various art forms in a single, walkable location.
History and Impact
BOOM was established in 2016 by a group of Charlotte artists and has since become one of the city’s largest and most diverse creative gatherings. The festival celebrates Charlotte’s vibrant creative scene, encompassing everything from chalk art to classical music, aerial dance, and slam poetry.
Special Features
Attendees can RSVP for BOOM Intersection and secure tickets for BOOM Fringe performances. Additionally, the City of Charlotte is launching its 10-year arts and culture plan, Show & Tell: Celebrating Our Community’s New Arts and Culture Plan, in partnership with BOOM.
