Trump’s Charlotte Fundraiser Co-Hosted by CEO of Controversial Veterans Business

Charlotte, N.C. (HERE News) – Donald Trump’s fundraiser in Charlotte is being co-hosted by the CEO of a company that’s spent years under fire by veterans and veteran-focused organizations.

Controversial Co-Host

Scott Greenblatt, the CEO of Veterans Guardian, is listed as a host of Trump’s fundraiser taking place this Saturday in Charlotte. The company, Veterans Guardian, has been a subject of multiple WBTV investigations due to its practices.

Under Fire

Veterans Guardian has faced criticism for its work helping veterans appeal their VA disability rating in exchange for a fee based on the additional money awarded. This service, which is offered by the company, can also be obtained for free through a veteran service officer.

Several veterans and national veteran-focused groups have raised concerns about the operations of Veterans Guardian. In 2022, an official with the American Legion referred to the company as “a pack of vultures” in an interview with WBTV.

More recently, Veterans Guardian received a cease-and-desist letter from the VA and is currently involved in a federal class action lawsuit filed by a veteran who alleged being unlawfully charged fees by the company.

Political Connections

A spokeswoman for the Trump Campaign, Karoline Leavitt, provided a statement in response to questions regarding Trump’s stance on Greenblatt’s business. The statement mentioned President Trump’s support for veterans and Americans but did not directly address the company’s practices.

Meanwhile, a spokesman for Veterans Guardian stated that the company has no issue with its employees being politically active in their personal capacities and emphasized that Greenblatt’s political involvement is separate from the company’s mission to assist disabled veterans in obtaining their entitled benefits.

Event Details

The fundraiser’s host committee contributed or raised $250,000, as stated in the invitation for the event. Trump is scheduled to attend the private fundraiser in Charlotte this Saturday, followed by a rally in Wilmington later that evening.

Closing Remarks

Trump’s fundraiser being co-hosted by the CEO of a controversial veterans business has sparked discussion and raised questions about the connections between politics and private enterprises. As the event approaches, scrutiny continues on the practices of Veterans Guardian and the implications of such associations in the political landscape.
