YORK COUNTY – Officials with the York County Coroner’s Office have identified two individuals following a tragic incident on Saturday evening. The pair allegedly crashed a stolen vehicle, resulting in the death of both individuals.

An investigation was launched after a car crash on Rambo Road. According to a news release, Rock Hill resident Michael Jonas, who was driving the vehicle, lost control and struck a tree. Jonas was rushed to Atrium in Charlotte, where he was later pronounced dead. Additionally, the passenger, 21-year-old Justin Villanueva from Charlotte, was pronounced dead at the scene.

South Carolina Highway Patrol and the Coroner’s Office are actively involved in investigating the incident. Autopsy and toxicology reports are currently pending to provide further details on the circumstances surrounding the crash.
